How to use the cash counter

  1. Count each bill and coin separately and type how many you have. The amounts and total update as you type.
  2. Count wrapped rolls in the “Rolled coins” rows, so you don’t have to open them.
  3. Enter your starting float to see the cash above it, the amount to deposit.
  4. Enter the expected cash from your register report to see whether the drawer is over or short.

Your count stays in this browser if you refresh. Nothing is sent to us.

Working out the expected cash

The cash that should be in the drawer is the starting float, plus cash sales, minus cash refunds and any cash paid out during the day. Only the cash part of split payments counts. Our step-by-step guide to balancing a cash drawer walks through it, and your register’s Z report gives you the cash sales figure.
